Toddler Education Program
The Grow Academy in McKinney, Texas understands how active toddlers can be. They’re always on the go and have a natural curiosity to explore.
With this in mind, our qualified teachers guide students through sensory-based learning experiences. This encourages them to discover new things and make their own decisions.
Life Essentials
What your child learns throughout the day reinforces what they are being taught at home. We look for teachable moments as your toddler plays, ensuring they learn all day.
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)
Each aspect of STEM is integrated into our Life Essentials curriculum. Our students experience STEM learning through classroom/outdoor exploration. They get to build their curiosity about the natural world and learn about how things work.
Toddlers also get opportunities to compare object sizes, practice beginner counting skills, explore building/construction materials, and use their senses to observe and predict.
Our Curriculum
The Grow Academy’s curriculum covers six developmental aspects.
Social and Emotional Development
This provides the foundation for our Discovering Me curriculum. Toddlers engage in experiences that encourage warm and nurturing interactions with teachers. This will help increase their confidence, self-awareness, and self-regulation.
Cognitive Development
This aspect features hands-on experiences with a focus on exploration and discovery. It includes early learning standards in math, science, technology, engineering, and social studies.
This curriculum also includes activities that help children learn about cause and effect and develop problem-solving skills. They’ll also discover new ways to make things work.
Physical Development and Health
Toddlers participate in activities that promote both fine and gross motor skills. They’ll also take part in simple, developmentally appropriate health routines and self-care practices.
With these experiences, toddlers will be able to demonstrate improved body awareness and experiment with different ways to move their bodies. They will also learn about healthy eating/sleeping habits and engage in active play every day.
Language and Communication
At their age, toddlers begin using words to identify familiar objects and express their needs. Our teachers hold rich conversations with each student to develop their vocabulary and improve their comprehension.
We also help children improve their expressive and receptive language by using:
- Beginner Spanish Vocabulary
- Exploration Items
- Picture Cards
- Sign Language
Creative Expression and Sensory
We invite toddlers to participate in creative, hands-on, and age-appropriate experiences. These focus on the process and not the final product.
Our students take part in sensory exploration activities, music/movement experiences, and dramatic play opportunities. To spark your child’s interests and activities, our teachers will feature works from famous artists and musicians.
Outdoor Learning and Nature
We provide outdoor physical development activities and experiences to help toddlers connect with nature. We believe that the outdoors serves as an extension of the indoor classroom setting.
Our teachers encourage toddlers to participate in individual and group experiences to develop their gross motor skills and connect with the world around them.
